NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College softball team ended its 2016 season at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Championship Tournament on Friday.
 
Top-seeded Westminster lost, 2-1, to fourth-seeded Bethany College (21-18) in the opening round and lost, 5-0, to second-seeded Thomas More College (31-9) in the elimination game.
 
In game one, the Bison took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after Marissa Bosley doubled home Deanna Mihalco. First-year 
Kailey Liverman (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) tied the game, 1-1, with a solo home run in the fourth inning; this was her third homer on the season. Bethany's Taylor Solomon scored the go-ahead run with a double in the sixth inning, scoring Emily Folk. Titan sophomore 
Jazmyn Rohrer (Purcellville, VA / Woodgrove) (12-8) pitched 6.0 innings, while giving up two runs on four hits. She struck out 11 batters and walked three; this was the fifth time this season Rohrer has recorded double-digit strikeouts.
 
In the elimination game, the Saints first scored in the second after Dallis Knotts batted in Bree Appel with a single. Thomas More added four more runs in the fourth; Knotts connected on a two-run home run and Alix DeDreu registered a two-run double. Westminster senior pitcher 
Amber Forrest (Clear Spring, MD / Clear Spring) (12-8) threw 6.2 innings, while giving up five runs on nine hits. Forrest struck out eight and walked one.
 
Westminster finishes the year 24-16 overall, including a school-record 19-straight wins, and 16-2 in the PAC.
