HIRAM, Ohio – The Westminster College baseball team won its fourth-straight game after a 9-5 win at Hiram College on Wednesday.
 
Westminster broke a 5-5 tie with three runs in the eighth inning; junior 
Sean Coyne (New Castle, PA / New Castle) scored the first run on a Hiram error, junior 
Tyler Bommer (Renfrew, PA / Seneca Valley) singled home freshman 
Michael Douds (Erie, PA / Cathedral Prep), and freshman 
Tyler Zaletel (Perry, OH / Perry) singled home junior 
Kellen Gursky (Greenville, PA / Reynolds). Douds added insurance for Westminster with an RBI-single in the ninth.
 
Titan freshman pitcher 
Ben Canty (Pittsburgh, PA / Keystone Oaks) (1-1) earned the win after coming in for relief. Canty threw 5.0 innings, while allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits. He struck out three batters and walked one.
 
Westminster out-hit Hiram, 13-8. Bommer had a game-high three hits. Bommer and sophomore 
Joseph Salmen (New Castle, PA / Union) each had a double, while senior 
Ryan Dunn (Freeport, PA / Freeport) added a triple.
 
The Titans improved to 6-25 overall, while the Terriers dropped to the same.
 
The Titans will next compete at Geneva College in a nine-inning game on Friday, April 29, at 4:30 p.m.
