STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Westminster College men's basketball team won, 90-76, in a non-conference game at Franciscan University on Saturday.
Titan junior
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) registered a game- and career-high 25 points (12 of 13) and earned a game-best 13 rebounds. Junior
Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) (13), sophomore
Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) (12), and senior
Cameron Pozsgai (Windham, OH / Windham) (10) also scored in double-digits. Vrabel added nine boards and a game-best three blocks. Junior
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) earned four assists and three steals, both team-highs.
Westminster outshot Franciscan 62.7% (37-59), a season-high, to 44.4% (28-63) and held a 34-29 advantage in rebounds.
Franciscan (0-5) held a 33-32 lead with 4:30 remaining in the first half. Westminster (3-1), however, orchestrated a 13-2 run and led 45-35 at intermission. The Titans maintained their lead in the second half and had their largest lead of 21 points three times, with the latest coming with 8:37 on the clock.
Westminster is back on the court Wednesday, November 30, when it hosts Thiel College at 8 p.m. for its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener.
