NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team won, 89-62, over Pitt-Greensburg in its first game of the season and of its annual Buzz Ridl Classic Friday night.
 
The Titans (1-0) were up 7-0 within the first two minutes of the game and took their first double-digit lead when junior 
Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) made a jumper with 9:36 on the clock. Westminster maintained its double-digit lead and led 49-29 at halftime. In the second half, Westminster took its largest lead of 30 points (89-59) when sophomore 
Marco Delorenzo (Canfield, OH / Canfield) made a three-pointer with 1:17 remaining.
 
Vrabel led the Titan offense with 12 points, followed by sophomore 
Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) and freshman 
Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) who each scored 10. Junior 
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) registered nine points and a grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Vrabel added seven rebounds. Senior 
Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) tallied nine points, while senior 
Cameron Pozsgai (Windham, OH / Windham) and junior 
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) each had eight points. Scott also dished out a game-high five assists and tied Domenick with a game-high three steals. Freshman 
Blake Payne (Ashtabula, OH / Jefferson Area) earned a team-high two blocks.
 
Westminster outshot Pitt-Greensburg (0-1), 48.6% (36-74) to 37.3% (22-59) and held a 42-40 advantage in rebounds.
 
In the first game of the Classic on Friday, Thiel College topped Penn State Beaver, 91-78.
 
The Titans will play their final game in the Buzz Ridl Classic tomorrow against Penn State Beaver at 4 p.m.
