Volleyball: Titans Conclude 2016 Season in PAC Quarterfinals

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team lost, 3-2, at Washington & Jefferson College in the 2016 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Quarterfinals Tuesday evening.
 
The Titans (15-17) were the fifth seed, while the Presidents (20-9) were the fourth seed.
 
Washington & Jefferson never trailed in the first set and won 25-17.
 
Tied 17-17 in the second set, Westminster went up 21-17 with a 4-0 run. The Presidents cut the Titans' lead to 23-21, however, back-to-back kills by Westminster juniors Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) and
Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) clinched the set two win for the Titans.
 
Westminster was down 13-8 in the third set, however the Titans orchestrated a 7-0 run to take a 15-13 lead. W&J battled back and led 21-20. The Titans, however, finished strong with a 5-0 run to win the set, 25-21, and took a 2-1 lead. In the run, Yoho had two kills, including the set point, and a block assist.
 
The Presidents built off their 15-13 lead in the fourth set with an 8-0 run and took a commanding 23-13 lead and won the frame, 25-14.
 
Westminster led early in the final set, however, Washington & Jefferson took the lead and maintained it for a 15-11 set five win and a 3-2 match victory.
 
Yoho tied a career-high with a match-high 22 kills, followed by Dickson (13) and senior Katie Pricener  (Wilmerding, PA / Serra Catholic) (8). Yoho added a team-high six blocks, while Pricener had four.
 
Titan sophomore Ashley Barker (Warren, PA / Warren Area) dished out a match-high 27 assists and tied with first-year Molly Parker (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) for a team-high one service ace. Parker added 15 assists.
 
Senior Megan Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) led the Titan defense with 24 digs, followed by first-year Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) (21) and Parker (20).
 
Westminster finished the season 15-17 overall and 8-10 in the PAC.
