NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team lost to Thomas More College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at home Thursday night.
Thomas More (11-8, 8-1 PAC) won set one, 25-8. In set two, the Saints led 17-12, however, Westminster (11-10, 4-5) cut the Thomas More's lead to 17-14, after junior
Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) earned a kill. That, however, would be the closest the Titans would get to the Saints' lead for the remainder of the set as Thomas More won 25-17. The Saints sealed the victory after a 25-15 win in set three.
Yoho led the Titan offense with 10 kills, followed by senior
Lauren Slater (Plum, PA / Oakland Catholic) (4) and senior
Katie Pricener (Wilmerding, PA / Serra Catholic) (2). Slater and Pricener added a team-high three blocks each. Westminster sophomores
Marti Liechty (Lolo, MT / Sentinel) and
Ashley Barker (Warren, PA / Warren Area) dished out nine and eight assists, respectively. Sophomore
Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) and
Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) topped the Titan defense with 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
Westminster will next host a tri-match on Saturday, October 8. The Titans will play Grove City College at 11 a.m. and Bethany College at 3 p.m.
