BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team won, 2-1, at Geneva College Wednesday night.
Westminster improved to 6-4-2 overall and 2-0-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while Geneva fell to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Sophomore
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) scored off a penalty kick in the 11
th minute to put the Titans in front 1-0. The goal marked Birsic's third of the season.
First-year
Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) extended Westminster's lead to 2-0 with after Birsic found her for a goal, her second on the year, in the 35
th minute.
Geneva scored its lone goal in the 46
th minute when Becca Ceffaratti found Kimberly Orihel for a score.
For the game, Westminster out-shot Geneva 23-12, including 16-9 on goal. The Titans had a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Titan junior goalkeeper
Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned seven saves in 90 minutes.
Westminster will next travel to Saint Vincent College on Saturday, October 8 with a 3 p.m. start time.
