NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team won, 2-0, over Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Chatham University Tuesday night.
The shutout marked the Titans' fifth this season.
Titan first-year
Kaelyn Puhalla (Youngstown, OH / Austintown-Fitch) scored the first goal in the 11
th minute, her fifth on the season.
Westminster sophomore
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) added insurance with a goal in the 72
nd minute, her team-leading sixth on the year.
Titan first-year goalkeeper
Ashley Smialek (Chicago, IL / Marist) tied a career-high five saves in 90 minutes of work.
Chatham (9-3-2, 4-2-0 PAC) out-shot Westminster 9-5, including 5-3 on-goal and had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Westminster (8-6-2, 4-2-0 PAC) is back in action Saturday, October 22 with a road game at Bethany College, starting at 1 p.m.
