NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's soccer team tied Thomas More College, 1-1, in double overtime at home in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Saturday afternoon.
The Titans moved to 5-5-4 overall and 2-1-2 in the PAC, while the Saints went to 8-6-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference.
Both goals occurred in the second half. Titan freshman
Nick Cimini (Mars, PA / Mars Area) scored the first goal in the 49
th minute, his second on the season. Sophomore
Gabe Roman (Easton, PA / Easton) and junior
Grant Gagnon (Johnstown, PA / Westmont Hilltop) earned the assists. Thomas More's Brian Runyon tied the game, 1-1, with a penalty kick goal in the 84
th minute.
Thomas More out-shot Westminster 23-15, including 11-6 on-goal and had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Titan sophomore goalkeeper
AJ Bove (New Stanton, PA / Hempfield Area) collected nine saves in a complete-game effort.
Westminster is back on the field Saturday, October 22 at Bethany College with a 3:30 p.m. start time.
