NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - A late goal by sophomore Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) lifted the Westminster College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over the visiting Franciscan University Barons.

At the 86:42 mark in the second half, Westminster senior Raechel Pusateri (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington) crossed the ball to the middle of the box which Thomas headed it to the back of the net.

For the game, Westminster held a slight 10-9 shot advantage. Pusateri led the Titans with three shots, including two on goal. First-year Sydne Slingluff (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) added two shots with one on goal.

Titan goalkeeper Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned the shutout-win, while earning four saves. Page improves to 2-0 on the season.

The Titans improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Barons drop to 0-2.

Westminster will next host Penn State-Altoona on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
