LATROBE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's tennis team won 6-3 at Saint Vincent College on Saturday.
The Titans remain unbeaten in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) at 3-0 (4-2 overall), while the Bearcats drop to 4-1 in the conference and 5-4 overall.
Westminster won four singles matches, led by junior
Sydney Sterner (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) who won at no. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-4. Also earning singles victories were junior
Mariah Turiano (Hollidaysburg, PA / Hollidaysburg) at no. 4 (6-0, 6-1), junior
Stephanie Homitz (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) at no. 5 (6-1, 4-6, 6-3), and sophomore
Patricia Pivaronas (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) at no. 6 (1-6, 6-4, 7-6).
In doubles, junior
Christijana Vucenovic (West Middlesex, PA / West Middlesex) and Turiano shutout their opponents at no. 2 doubles, 8-0. Homitz and Pivaronas won at no. 3 doubles, 9-7.
Westminster will next compete at Thiel College on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
