BETHANY, W. Va. - The Westminster College women's basketball team lost 67-49 at Bethany College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Wednesday.
Westminster (4-18, 3-12 PAC) was in front 8-6 after senior Allison Borts (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) scored a jumper with 13:12 remaining in the first half. Bethany (12-10, 8-7 PAC) responded with a 12-0 run to take an 18-8 lead with 7:57 on the clock. The Bison led by as much as 20 points (37-17) with 52 seconds left and led 37-21 at halftime. Bethany maintained its double-digit lead in the second half.
Borts led the Titan offense with 13 points. First-years Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) and Danielle Dindak (West Homestead, PA / Serra Catholic) added eight and seven points, respectively. Borts and first-year Baylee Felger (Petersburg, OH / Springfield Local) led Westminster with six rebounds each.
The Bethany out-shot Westminster 37.3% (25-67) to 34.6% (18-52). Both teams each had 41 rebounds.
The Titans will look to break their five game skid on Saturday when they host Thiel College at 1:30 p.m. for their senior day and "Think Pink" game. The PAC Network will broadcast the contest.
