NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's basketball team remained undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) after a 72-60 win over Thomas More College at home Saturday afternoon.
The win marked their first over the Saints since 2008 when the Titans won 92-80.
Westminster (2-5, 2-0 PAC) took its largest lead of the first half when junior John Arcuri (Oakmont, PA / Saint Joseph) made a three-pointer to put the Titans in front 26-10 with eight minutes remaining. Sophomore
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) earned the assist. The Titans would not let Thomas More (2-4, 1-1 PAC) get any closer than nine points for the remainder of the half and led 39-27 at halftime.
The Titans led by as much as 20 points twice in the second half, the latest coming with 11:59 on the clock when freshman
Austin Armwood (Westerville, OH / Westerville North) nailed a jumper bringing the score to 56-36. The Saints responded with a 21-7 run to cut Westminster's lead to 63-57 with 2:53 on the clock. Westminster regrouped and closed out the game with a 9-3 run.

Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) led all scorers with 14 points. Three additional Titans registered double-digit points. Sophomore
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) and junior
Cameron Pozsgai (Windham, OH / Windham) scored 11 points each, while senior
Charlie Wallander (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) added 10. Senior
Paul Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) led on the glass with a game- and season-high 10 rebounds, two shy from tying his career best.
Scott added eight points and seven rebounds, while sophomore
Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) tallied seven points. Domenick had a team-high three assists, while Pilarski led the Titans with four steals.
Westminster out-shot Thomas More 41.5% (22-53) to 35.8% (19-53).
The Titans are back on the court next Saturday, Dec. 12, when they travel to PAC foe Waynesburg University. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
