HIRAM, Ohio - The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 57-46, at Hiram College in a non-conference contest Tuesday night.
First-year Annie Popoff (Erie, PA / Mercyhurst Prep) and sophomore
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) led the Titan offense with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Fromknecht went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Sophomore
Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) registered a game- and career-high 10 rebounds, to go along with a team-high three steals. Sophomore
Danielle Dindak (West Homestead, PA / Serra Catholic) added eight points, while classmate
Paige Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) added five rebounds.
In the first half, Westminster (0-3) came back from being down seven points and cut Hiram's (4-1) lead to 16-15 with 5:48 remaining. The Terriers maintained their lead and were in front 21-15 at halftime.
Hiram took its largest lead of the game (55-37) with 1:36 remaining in the fourth period. The Titans finished the game strong with a 9-2 run.
Westminster is back in action on Monday, Nov. 30, when it travels to the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg. The Titans will have their home and Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener on Wednesday, Dec. 2, versus Chatham University at 6 p.m.
