Women’s Basketball: Titans Drop to Saint Vincent in PAC Home Opener

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 100-57, to Saint Vincent College on Saturday in the Titans' Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) home opener.

With the loss, the Titans fall to 1-9 overall and 0-3 in the PAC. With the win, the Bearcats improve to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

First-year Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) led the Titan scorers with nine points and matched a career-high with a game-high eight rebounds. Senior Allison Borts (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) scored eight points. First-year Morgan Widina (Mayfield Heights, OH / Mayfield) added a career-high seven points, including a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line, to go along with a career-high six rebounds. Sophomore Shelby Brown (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) dished out a team-high three assists.

The Bearcats out-scored the Titans 42-9 for the remainder of the first half for a 55-20 halftime lead. The deficit proved to be too large for Westminster to overcome.

The Bearcats out-shot the Titans 52.6% (40-76) to 32.7% (18-55) and held a slight 41-39 rebound advantage.

Westminster is back on the court Wednesday when it travels to PAC foe Grove City College. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
