Men’s Basketball: Titans Fall at Home to Baldwin Wallace

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 81-65, at home to Baldwin Wallace College on Tuesday.

With the loss, the Titans fall to 3-7 overall. With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 6-3 overall.

Four Titans scored in double-digits, led by junior Charlie Wallander (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin). Sophomore Matt Getsy (Mars, PA / Mars) scored 14, while junior Paul Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) and freshman Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) registered 13 points each. Scott notched his third double-double of the season as he had a team-high 11 rebounds. Sophomore Garrett Ashbaugh (Mars, PA / Mars) dished out a team-high three assists, while freshman Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) pocketed a game-high four steals.

Westminster led 11-7, its largest of the game, after Getsy scored on a layup with 13:51 remaining in first half. The game was tied, 17-17, with 8:12 on the clock. The Yellow Jackets out-scored the Titans 20-12 for the remainder of the half to take a 37-29 halftime-lead.

Baldwin Wallace took a double-digit lead on its first possession of the second half and maintained the double-figure lead for the remainder of the contest.

The Yellow Jackets out-shot the Titans 45.8% (27-59) to 35.5% (22-62) and held a slight 43-38 rebound-edge.

Westminster will host Saint Vincent College on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
