Women's Basketball: No. 22-Ranked Saint Vincent Too Much for Westminster

LATROBE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team was no match for nationally-ranked Saint Vincent Wednesday as the No. 22 Bearcats cruised to an 82-46 win over the visiting Titans in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game. Westminster falls to 4-14 overall and 0-10 in the PAC, while Saint Vincent improves to 16-2 overall and 9-2 in the league.

Freshman guard Gabby Holko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Alvernia) scored a career-high 12 points for the Titans, all coming on 4-6 shooting from 3-point range. Senior guard Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) was the Titans' next highest scorer with six points.

Maria Baroffio led the Bearcats with 20 points, followed by Brittany Sedlock with 16, Emily Fenton with 14 and Caty Kumar with 11. Sedlock also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.

The Bearcats jumped to a 29-7 lead in the opening 10 minutes before leading 47-19 at halftime. Saint Vincent held at least a 29-point lead for the last 16 minutes of the second half and its 36-point final margin was its largest lead of the game.

Westminster committed 20 turnovers to Saint Vincent's nine.

The Titans will host the No. 1-ranked team in the nation Saturday when they host Thomas More for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
