Men's Soccer: Titans Upset by W&J in PAC Semifinals

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team's season came to an end Wednesday night as No. 3-seeded Washington & Jefferson eliminated the No. 2-seeded Titans, 4-0, in the semifinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tournament at Harold Burry Stadium.

The Titans' season ends with a 10-10 record, while the Presidents (12-6-1) advance to play Thomas More on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the PAC title.

W&J freshman Jimmy Gante scored the first two goals of his career, both assisted by Chris Whiteman, as he netted the game's only goal in the first half with an 18th-minute tally. After Dan Hart scored in 46th minute, the Whiteman-to-Gante combination made it 3-0 in the 54th minute. Chris Skovira finished the scoring with a goal in the 65th minute.

Simen Myrum made three saves for W&J, while Westminster junior Mike Codita (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) stopped four shots. Both teams attempted 12 shots in the game, including Westminster senior Ian Hill (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Catholic) leading all players with three shots.
