Men's Soccer: Titans Reach .500 by Dispatching Bethany

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team evened its overall record to 9-9 with a 3-0 win over Bethany at home Tuesday in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. The Titans also improve to 4-1 in the PAC for second place in the league standings. The Bison fall to 2-15 overall and 1-4 in league games.

Junior Wade Grubbs (Chicora, Pa./Butler), who has now scored in three of the last four games since returning from injury, headed in the game-winner in the 15th minute on a cross from senior Steve Armahizer (Butler, Pa./Butler).

The other two goals came in the second half as senior Ian Hill (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Catholic) scored off a punt from junior goalkeeper Mike Codita (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) in the 55th minute. The final tally came in the 70th minute when sophomore Jason Mezyk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) potted a goal from junior Aaron Zavora (Westmoreland City, Pa./Norwin).

Codita made one save in 73 minutes in net. The Titans outshot the Bison 25-4.

Westminster returns to action Saturday when it hosts Grove City at 1 p.m. for the final game of the regular season.
