BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team lost at Geneva, 3-2, on Friday night. The Titans' record falls to 6-9 on the season while the Golden Tornadoes improve to 10-4.
Geneva scored the first two goals of the game when Bruce Fox scored in the 43rd minute and Josh Mann netted a point in the 47th minute.
Westminster forged within one goal after junior Wade Grubbs (Chicora, Pa./Butler) scored a goal in the 72nd minute, but Geneva answered with Mann's second tally of the game in the 84th minute. Senior Jarred Smeltzer (Wilmerding, Pa./East Allegheny) potted another goal for the Titans just before the end of regulation.
Both teams attempted 16 shots apiece. Westminster junior goalkeeper Mike Codita (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) made four saves.
Westminster travels to Thiel on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
