NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team tied Saint Vincent, 3-3, at home Saturday.
Junior defender Chris Ellwanger (South Park, Pa./South Park) sent the game to overtime for Westminster with a successful 75th-minute penalty kick.
Freshman goalkeeper Mike Codita (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) made 13 saves, including two in overtime, to help the Titans salvage the tie.
The Titans led 2-1 at one point after senior midfielder Garrett Horvath (Southlake, Texas/Southlake Carroll) scored unassisted on one of his team-high nine shot attempts in the 42nd minute, three minutes after sophomore Brice Lott (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) tied the game 1-1 with an unassisted goal.
The Saint Vincent (4-6-2) goal-scorers were Sean Molyneaux in the 12th minute, Ben Fecik in the 49th minute and Jason Zielinski in the 60th minute.
The Titans out-shot the Bearcats, 26-22.
Westminster (4-4-2) returns to action at Geneva Oct. 1 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
