Men's Soccer: Titans' Season Comes to an End With Quarterfinal Loss in ECAC South Playoffs

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer season came to a close Wednesday night as the Titans lost at Carnegie Mellon, 3-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Championships.

Carnegie Mellon (12-5), the second seed in the tournament, scored all three of its goals in the first half against the seventh-seeded Titans (12-7-2).

Andrew Park scored in the 16th minute before Jonathan Browne potted his eight and ninth goals of the season in the 37th and 44th minutes.

The Tartans held a 14-12 shot advantage and a 5-4 advantage on corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Anthony Beilstein (Butler, Pa./Knoch) made two saves in goal for the Titans, while senior forward Blake Ordell (Clinton Township, Mich./Fraser) led the Westminster offense with four shots.

Westminster, which won the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) this year, made its third postseason appearance in five years, including this year's trip to the ECAC playoffs and two NCAA appearances in 2002 and 2004.
