BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team won, 72-64, at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Geneva College Wednesday night.
Titan junior
Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) scored a game-high 20 points and one was rebound away from registering a double-double as he tied a game-best nine rebounds. Sophomore
Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) registered 17 points, while freshman
Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) had 13. Junior
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) and senior
Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) added seven and six points, respectively. Junior
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) earned eight rebounds. Senior
Cameron Pozsgai (Windham, OH / Windham) had a block, while Armwood and Vrabel each had a team-high two steals.
The Golden Tornadoes outshot the Titans 45.6% (26-57) to 42.2% (27-64) and outrebounded Westminster 41-35.
Westminster (15-9, 11-6 PAC) led for the majority of the first half and had its largest lead, 35-23, with 2:10 remaining. Geneva (9-15, 10-7 PAC) got within two points of the Titans' lead three times in the second half with the latest occurring with 3:52 to play (59-57). Westminster, however, would not let Geneva get any closer and outscored the Golden Tornadoes 13-7 for the remainder of the contest.
Westminster will next host Saint Vincent College on Saturday, February 18 for its regular season finale and Senior Day at 3:30 p.m.
